Oct 29, 2020 02:30pm

Event Description

Join SEFLIN's Social Services in Libraries Discussion Group and see how the Miami-Dade Public Library System has navigated the social work intern pilot project through challenging times with creativity and grace. Miami-Dade County Library Manager's Shana Hinze, Bryant Capley, Paul LeFrak, and Athy Fitos will provide an overview of the current work. We will introduce SEFLIN's new Social Work Field Instructor, discuss the topics and structure for this year's group, and review the Information and Referral Resource Guide. This year we will continue with deeper dives into inequality - institutional racism, bibliotherapy, addictions, and veterans. We will also assess the group for requests moving forward. Please join us as we move further into action with social services in libraries.
