Series 101 (Live Online)

Sep 30, 2015 10:00am -
Sep 30, 2015 12:00pm
(GMT-5)

Event Description

This two-hour live online class explores the basics of series.

We'll discuss:

  • how to identify a series on a book (as well as other types of content)
  • the differences between a series, a serial, and an analytic
  • interpretation of treatment notes in series authorities records
  • the impact of RDA on series
  • how to approach conflicting treatment in records.

As the Library of Congress ceased tracing series, their decision has impacted many libraries. Discussion will focus on identification, searching, practical application and problem solving.

Handouts with readings, resources, and exercises will be provided for participants to complete on their own.

This webinar will be delivered via SEFLIN Connect. Log-in information will be emailed approximately one week before the course.
