Part 2: Changing data in fields

In this session, we'll go through the process of changing data - from swapping fields to changing data in existing fields. We'll work with sample records to change data, providing guidelines and practice for database cleanup. Exercises and questions from MARCEDIT workshop 1 will be covered. Sample records and exercises will provided.

This webinar is the 2nd of a 3-part series presented by Robin Faye that will break down MARC, going step by step through importing and adding MARC records and basic edits (RDA helper; adding/deleting records) in Workshop 1 and changing data in fields and database cleanup in Workshop 2. Workshop 3 will pull it all together, focusing on building customized MARCEdit workflows. Exercises for after class work will be provided. Attendees will have more success if they have MARCEDIT downloaded and installed. For those needing an introduction to MARCEDIT, please see the SEFLIN library courses on MARCEDIT prior to the sessions.

Part 3 - December 20  Breaking down MARCEDIT 3: Building customized workflows

In this session, we'll go through the process of building customized data cleanup workflows using MARCEDIT tools. We'll also explore some of the more advanced MARCEDIT tools. Exercises and questions from MARCEDIT workshop 2 will be covered. Sample records and exercises will provided.
