Supporting Students in the Stacks: Student Mental Health and Wellness Initiatives at the Library​

In recent years, many reports, articles and news stories have emerged related to students’ mental health needs and concerns on post-secondary campuses. And during this time, universities and colleges have responded with student mental health frameworks, as well as additional resources and services to address this growing need. But what can libraries do to help students in this area? In this webinar, librarians from various institutions in Ontario outline some of the initiatives and services they have developed in response to this growing need of student mental health and wellness resources on campus, and how students are benefitting from these services and spaces within the library.

You will learn:
1. The importance of addressing student mental health and wellness at the post-secondary level.

2. The variety of ideas regarding resources and services to address students’ mental health and well-being to put into practice at their library.

3. The additional resources or campus groups they can consult or partner with to create student mental health and well-being initiatives at the library.
