"If you're in the education technology space, you need a biography. It could be for a conference submission, or it could be to be introduced for something. What is for me is a place for writers' block, but here goes nothing.

I always wanted to be a teacher. My mom was a teacher, and after my dad passed in Middle school, coaches became my father figures. Teaching and coaching was always in the cards, because it was those people that made a difference in my life..

After graduating from college, I want straight into the classroom and onto the field/mat to help students. Whether it was getting them to a better content understanding or helping them succeed athletically, it was all about students, and from that drive to make them better I started experimenting with technology in the classroom. Student creation soon became my focal point.

A passion started to develop. I saw the power of technology as I continued to experiment and let kids create. I saw their deeper understanding, and as I continued to evolve (through three schools CD Hylton, Wheeler, and North Atlanta), I continued to stretch from the classroom norm. Thankfully, I had an amazing administrator who pushed me to share, and I caught the bug.

That bug for EdTech and what it can do for students has led me to some amazing places. I soon moved onto the Kennesaw State iTeach team where I helped personalize learning in metro Atlanta and even built a maker bus to take out to schools. I got to present all over the country and advocate for student creation. I met some amazing people along the way, and it has all culminated in the private sector where I get to help teachers to get every student coding." - David Lockhart
