Event Description

Coding Projects to Enhance Youth's Engagement, Learning, and Creativity

July 7, 2022

11:00 am - 12:00 pm

In this interactive webinar, librarians will discover powerful coding resources and unique projects to empower their students to engage, learn, and create. Designing a website, an E-book, e-magazine, apps, and much more is easy and fun. The youth will become creators, and not just consumers of technolgy. Coding increases cognitive skills which will benefit young people's educational and career goals. The webinar includes useful tips on how to implement and present coding programs that are effective, less time-consuming, and appealing.

Presented by: Sukalaya Kenworthy, MA (TESL), MLIS is a librarian at the Broward County Main Library. Having worked for libraries for 16 years, Sukalaya has taught numerous coding and STEM classes to youth. Sukalaya has been a conference presenter for SEFLIN and the Florida Library Association, and an active member of the American Library Association.
