Tuesday, June 16, 2020
2:30 pm - 4:00pm EST
West Boca Branch Library - Palm Beach County Library System
Do you agonize every time you have to fill a position? Are you sometimes disappointed in the response to your postings? Have you really considered what type of person you need for the library of tomorrow? This session will give you a new approach to finding the right people, to conducting interviews that reveal the talents you can put to work immediately, and to opening up the field to a diverse staff.
Presenter: Maxine Bleiweis
Shifting gears from directing three award-winning public libraries, Maxine Bleiweis is working to keep libraries ahead of the curve. In her new chapter as Maxine Bleiweis & Associates, she is being called upon to speak on customer service, coach managers, and guide strategic planning, and incorporate innovative thinking in practices and design.
Bleiweis’ libraries were awarded 5-Star Status and were finalists for the IMLS Medal of Excellence. She authored Helping Business: the library’s role in community economic development. She was the 2015 recipient of the PLA Charles Robinson Award for Innovative Leadership and Connecticut’s Librarian of the Year in 2011.
