SEFLIN History

30 Years of SEFLIN

SEFLIN 30th Anniversary Membership Meeting
November 7, 2014

SEFLIN Board and Members used the 2014 Fall Membership Meeting to remember innovations and accomplishments of the first 30 Years of SEFLIN. Former SEFLIN members, staff and friends sent greetings to share at the event. Former State Librarian Barratt Wilkins provided context about the beginning of SEFLIN and multitype library cooperatives in Florida. Photos and memorabilia illustrated the highlights of SEFLIN's achievements in Resource Sharing, Continuing Education, Sunseeker Leadership Institutes, and highlights of Board, Committee and Awards . SEFLIN "historians" Kathleen Imhoff, Project Director for the formative years, Elizabeth Curry, Executive Director for the SEFLIN Freenet years, and Dr. William Miller, SEFLIN Board member 1988-2014, provided commentary and context for SEFLIN's innovations. Dr. William Miller compiled "SEFLIN’s First 30 Years: A History of Innovation and Leadership" for 30th Anniversary Program (PDF to Download).

We are pleased to share the slides, photos and program for those who were not able to join us at the celebration. We want to thank the South Florida Library Community for support over the past 30 years and hope the cooperative relationships continue into the future.
