Issuing SEFLIN Library Cards:
- The University/College Library on BC Central Campus in Davie, FL is a joint-use facility serving BC and FAU faculty, staff, and students.
- We will issue SEFLIN Consortium Library Cards to the following:
- BC current Faculty and Adjunct Faculty members.
- FAU current Faculty and Adjunct Faculty who are teaching courses on Central/Davie Campus.
- BC and FAU currently enrolled students attending BC Central/Davie Campus.
- BC and FAU professional staff who work on the Central/Davie Campus.
- SEFLIN Library Cards are issued for one academic year to current BC and FAU faculty members.
- SEFLIN Library Cards are issued for one academic semester to current BC and FAU students taking classes on BC Central/Davie Campus.
- SEFLIN Library Cards are issued for one academic year to current BC and FAU professional staffs who work on the Central/Davie Campus.
- SEFLIN Library Cards are issued at the Reference Desk.
Who May Borrow Books from the University/College Library:
- The University/College Library will honor all SEFLIN consortium library cards from other Consortium Libraries.
- The SEFLIN Card DOES NOT entitle the borrower from another institution to check out media materials.
- The SEFLIN card does not entitle a borrower from another institution to order books through the Interlibrary Loan Department or to check out Reference or Reserve material.
- The SEFLIN card only entitles the borrower to check out books in the circulating collection from the University/College Library.
- The SEFLIN card borrower is responsible for presenting a valid consortium library card from his/her home institution along with another valid piece of identification.
- U/CL books are checked out to a SEFLIN borrower for 21 days with no renewals.
- No more than five books may be checked out. If the SEFLIN borrower has five books already on loan, he/she will not be able to check out more books until the previous books are returned.
- Delinquent consortium borrowers will be notified immediately as will his/her home institution. Borrowed materials must be returned directly to the University/College Library and not to another Broward College campus or Florida Atlantic University location.
Obligations:
- Any BC or FAU faculty, student, or staff who has been reported to the University/College Library as being charged with a library obligation at any of the Consortium Institutions MAY NOT be issued or have their SEFLIN Library Card renewed until all obligations have been cleared.
- The University/College Library requests that the lending institution notify our Circulation Department as soon as a borrowed book becomes delinquent.
- The Circulation staff will obligate the faculty member, student, or staff immediately and inform the U/CL Consortium Librarian.
- Failure by the borrower to clear an obligation at the other Consortium Institution may prevent the U/CL from renewing a SEFLIN Library Card.
- Failure by the borrower from another Consortium Institution to clear their obligation at U/CL may prevent U/CL from honoring a SEFLIN Library Card from that borrower's institution.
Fees/Fines:
- Late Books: 10 cents per day
- Lost Book: See posted price on U/CL Web page http://ucl.broward.edu and at the Circulation Desk.
- Rebinding fee for a damaged book: See posted price on U/CL Web page and at the Circulation Desk.
- Other Damages (bar code, spine label, book cover, pages, etc.): cost determined by Dean/Designee.

North Regional/BC library is a joint facility of Broward County Library and Broward College.
How To Obtain a Library Card - Consortium Students:
- Broward County residents as well as students with a valid consortium card from their home college or university library may be issued a Broward County Library Card.
- Card should be presented at Circulation Desk.
- Consortium cards are issued only for current term.
- Card expires at the end of the term.
- Change of address or loss of the card should be reported to the Circulation Desk immediately.
Check Out Policies and Procedures:
- Valid Broward County Library card must be presented each time an item is checked out.
- The regular loan period is 21days for most books.
- Best sellers circulate for 14 days.
- There is a limit of 4 items per subject area.
- These materials may be renewed two times for one week each time.
- If an item is on hold for another patron, it cannot be renewed.
- Audiocassettes and compact discs circulate for 21 days, CD ROMs circulate for 14 days, and videocassettes and DVDs circulate for 5 days.
Returning Materials:
- Patrons are responsible for all materials borrowed on Broward County Library cards and for returning items on time.
- Materials may be returned to any Broward County Library at the Circulation desk or in the book drop.
- Due dates are stamped on cards which are placed in pockets in back of items.
What You May Check Out:
- A Broward County Library card entities you to check out any circulating item in the collection.
- Fines for overdue books are 15 cents per day (including Sundays and holidays.)
- The maximum fine for any overdue book is $10.00.
- Fines for non-print items may vary.
- The charge for lost or damaged materials is the value of the item, plus a $10 processing fee.
- Patrons are automatically blocked after $5 owed.
Delinquent NR/BC Students At Other Consortium Libraries:
- Each library should apply their own internal policies to the delinquent NR/BC borrower.
- Before the end of each BC semester, consortium libraries should notify the NR/BC Consortium Librarian in writing of any delinquent patron's name, address, reason for delinquency, and penalty at the borrowing library.
- NR/BC Library will block delinquent patron on both BC and library computer systems to prevent further borrowing, block grades and block future course registration.
- The delinquent NR/BC borrower will be notified by phone or by form letter. NR/BC Librarian should be notified when delinquency has been cleared up so that block may be removed from card.
