Local Library Rules and Policies:
  Consortium Borrowing Privileges:

Consortium (SEFLIN) library cards will be made available to all Carlos Albizu University full time faculty and students upon request. These individuals must have no outstanding library obligations (fines, overdue, etc.), or have a favorable borrowing record at the Albizu Library, and be either currently employed or enrolled at the Carlos Albizu University. Cards will be issued for one academic year to faculty members and for one academic semester to students.

Upon notification of delinquency from the lending library, the patron will be notified. Borrowing privileges will be suspended until all obligations to the library are met. Patrons with Consortium library cards will agree to abide by the rules of the lending library including delinquency and lost materials.

Consortium Lending Privileges:

Lending privileges at the Carlos Albizu University are extended to full-time faculty members and to full-time students currently enrolled/employed in academic institutions SEFLIN members, that participate in the SEFLIN Library Card Program, upon presentation of a valid SEFLIN card from his/her home institution.

The patron will be requested to fill an application form, and will receive a copy of the "Library Policies and Procedures", and a contract to sign. The contract will be kept in file at the library.

The loan period for books is for two weeks. Materials may be renewed one time, provided there is no hold/recall request for the items and the books are not overdue.

Audiovisual material can be seen only in the library.

Psychological testing is not to be shown or borrowed from the library to anybody that is not a student or a faculty at the Carlos Albizu University.

All Carlos Albizu University charges for overdue and lost material apply to these special borrowers. The borrowers accept the responsibility for the timely return of materials and/or the payment of any appropriate charges.

SEFLIN borrower's library privileges will be suspended for borrowers that do not abide by the Library Policies and Procedures.

SEFLIN Library Card holders are not allowed to borrow test kits, AV material, Reference items or course reserve material. Fines for books are .25 cents per day per item. Loan periods for books are 14 days (2 weeks). SEFLIN Library Card holders who do not pay their overdue fines will lose borrowing privileges and be reported to their institution's library.

  • Monday, Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Midterms and Finals Week: Monday-Thursday: 10am-10pm
