This course is intended to be an introduction to commonly encountered wetland and aquatic vascular plant species in the local region. The course will emphasize the detailed morphological characteristics and habitat preferences for numerous groups of species in a classroom setting and include a field trip to view species in various habitats. The primary intent of the course is to familiarize people from varying backgrounds with a working knowledge of broad range of wetlands and their associated vegetation. Topics covered in the course will provide a strong foundation in basic identification skills for groups of wetland and aquatic vascular plant species, as the hands-on aspect of the course will be emphasized.
