Direct Connect to Congress
Designed by WGR, Direct Connect gives unique insights and perspectives on the inner workings of Congress. This year’s series will feature six classes that will examine congressional procedure by focusing on procedures used by Members of Congress in the House and Senate as well as an in-depth view of the budget and appropriations processes.

All classes will take place on Fridays 9:00am to 11:00am. Execpt for the first session on Thursday, April 12. ​

Registration and Continental Breakfast begin at 8:30am.

Instructor, Judy Schneider
How is this series unique from any other Congressional education programs offered? WGR’s program features a Washington D.C. legend. Judy Schneider, a specialist on Congress and a former House and Senate committee staffer, has taught hundreds of Members of Congress and their staff Congressional procedure. A dynamic educator with over 30 years of experience, Schneider is a frequent speaker and lecturer on Congress and legislative procedures. Schneider is also co-author of Congressional Deskbook, a comprehensive resource tool frequently used by Congress and lobbyists.

Who Should Attend?
Professionals who are seeking an in-depth look at Congressional procedure; new, mid-level, and senior Congressional staff; lobbyists, grassroots or political operatives; reporters, researchers, policy analysts, students and all others engaged or interested in the inner-workings of Congress. An interactive professor, Schneider expertly designs each class for the individual participants.

As a CAE Approved Provider educational program related to the CAE exam content outline, this program may be applied for 2 credits (12 credits for the entire Direct Connect Series) toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements.

Payment, Replacement & Refund Policy
WGR event registration fees must be paid in advance. If you are unable to attend, you may send a substitute, however you are responsible for the difference in fees if the individual is a non-member. The deadline to receive a refund is three (3) business days prior to the event. The request must be received in writing, prior to the deadline.

Registration and attendance at WGR events constitutes an agreement by the registrant to WGR’s use and distribution of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs and videotapes.
