Coming to Washington can be both exciting and intimidating. This presentation walks participants through a step-by-step preparation for meeting with Congress and their staff. The webinar Includes: how to research their legislator before a visit; identifying and mapping their “economic footprint” to demonstrate their organization’s impact in the community; and creating their own personal story connecting their issue areas to public policy. The accompanying handout provides participants with a clear “to-do” list prior to their meeting with elected officials, and encourages them to consider their follow-up strategies even before they arrive in Washington.
