Speaker: Jane Alonso serves as Vice President for Government Relations for the National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO), an organization devoted to policy advocacy on behalf of private forest landowners. A respected and effective advocate on Capitol Hill with a demonstrated record of achievement, Jane has over 15 years of results-oriented legislative experience. From 2009-2015, Jane was a Principal with Monument Policy Group, a government affairs and strategic consulting firm in Washington, DC, where she worked closely with the timber and forest products industries, as well as a variety of business and non-profit interests.
Jane served as staffer on Capitol Hill for ten years including as Legislative Director for Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), where she managed the Senator’s legislative and policy team, and as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. A native of Miami, Jane began her career in the Florida delegation with the offices of Senator Bob Graham (D-FL) and Representatives Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and John Mica (R-FL).
Jane twice served as an international election supervisor in Bosnia following the end of the region’s civil war and worked in the political section of the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo in 2000.
Jane received a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and Bachelor’s of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University, where she teaches a course on lobbying and government relations.

Payment, Replacement & Refund Policy
WGR event registration fees must be paid in advance. If you are unable to attend, you may send a substitute, however you are responsible for the difference in fees if the individual is a non-member. The deadline to receive a refund is three (3) business days prior to the event. The request must be received in writing, prior to the deadline.
