Having a baby and going back to work can throw anyone’s life off-kilter. And supervising women who are returning to work after having a baby presents issues that are worth being thoughtful about. New mothers face questions about everything from logistics to their own career paths, and they inevitably return to work a different person than when they went out on leave.
At this brown bag lunch, Lori Mihalich-Levin, JD, founder of Mindful Return, will discuss practical and effective strategies for planning a return to work after maternity leave so that new mothers can ease their concerns and fears about the transition, focus on their babies, and make calm and thoughtful choices. She will also offer managers insights and strategies that will help their employees and direct reports have a successful transition back to work.
The discussion will focus specifically on areas that can have the most positive impact on new mothers’ transitions, including:
- Creating a mindful mindset for returning to work
- Mapping out logistics, including child care, nourishing your baby, and dealing with sick days and the unexpected
- Turning maternity leave into a leadership Building supportive communities to help with the transition.
