10:00-11:30 AM Stress-Proof Leadership for High-Performance Teams

How do you increase productivity and decrease absenteeism?
The contagious nature of stress is hardwired. High-performing teams make success contagious too.  Eliz Greene interviewed hundreds of leaders and team members for her new book Stress-Proof Your Life.  She knows stress management is a HARD skill essential to success.  Stress comes from many sources—caring for children or elders, arguing with a colleague, having a leaky roof—that can be stressful, but chronic high stress (the kind that kills) is caused by overwhelm and uncertainty.  Identifying the causes of stress and using skills to disconnect and recover is the key to improving wellness, quality of life, and performance.

Through this interactive session, participants will:

  • Understand the real causes of stress  Learn how chronic stress is corrosive to performance
  • Discover hard skills and leadership insights to support performance and wellness

Eliz Greene
Surviving a heart attack at age 35 while seven months pregnant with twins propelled Eliz Greene on a mission to share her story to inspire other busy people to pay attention to their health. Recognizing stress as an essential and often under-addressed risk factor, Eliz conducted a research study on job stress. Her latest book, Stress-Proof Your Life, offers implementable strategies to combat uncertainty, overcome overwhelm, and improve performance and quality of life. She was named as a Top Online Influencer on Stress and Heart Health. She’s been seen on CNN, PBS, Lifetime, TNT, and many national and local news programs. A national spokesperson and advocate for the American Heart Association, Eliz received the Heart Hero Award in 2010. Today, Eliz enjoys life with her wonderful husband, Clay, their beautiful (now adult) daughters.

1:00-2:30 PM Leading in Unvertain Times

Success in leadership is all about drawing out the best – the A-Game – from those who look to you for leadership. That is all about engagement and that’s especially important in this age of new and expanded uncertainty that has both leaders and employees feeling anxious and looking for direction. That puts added burdens on leaders.

Some hunker down, playing it safe and hoping the threat goes away and for yesterday to return. But yesterday simply is not coming back and just hunkering down is liquidating your business on the installment plan. Techniques that brought success in the past may not work in this new reality of expanded uncertainty. The solution lies in finding new ways to lead your people past their anxiety so they become engaged and motivated to bring their A-Game.

Leading In Uncertain Times shows how to meet the needs of those who look to you for leadership so that you will influence them to be fully engaged and everyone achieves success.  Those who look to you for leadership are looking for your best and Leading In Uncertain Times will show you how to deliver it.

Attendees will

  • Learn to deal with the baseline of anxiety that pervades workplaces today due to continuing uncertainty and help employees to overcome it.
  • Find out how to lead in a virtual environment and draw out people’s best – their A-Game.
  • Create a clear, compelling leadership plan – actions for success for ongoing performance improvement.
Jack Altschuler

With 25 years of hands-on executive experience as CEO of the commercial and industrial water treatment company I founded, I now use every bit of what I learned there in presenting keynote speeches , as well as in delivering leadership workshops. Association events, conventions and any venue where leadership excellence and professional development are the focus are just some of the venues for these presentations.

As 6-year board member and past president of the Association of Water Technologies, I was deeply involved in its membership quadrupling and the association becoming the recognized leading technical organization in the industry.

LGL Leadership is where I am privileged to be a faculty member for top executives from diverse industries. These CEO’s meet quarterly to focus on their development as the greatest leaders they can be. That allows them to influence their people to be fully engaged and tackle the challenges and opportunities they face. The facilitation and instruction I deliver is supported by my years of leadership expertise and behavioral study.
