Geisinger Health (GH) has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in the recruitment of an innovative and forward- thinking leader who will transform the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. Geisinger is seeking a system-wide Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health who will play a key leadership role across GH in all aspects of clinical care, teaching, quality improvement, research and faculty and staff development.


The Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health will provide strategy and vision to make this Department a national model for behavioral health, known for the integration of behavioral health with primary care, as well as with other key specialties such as trauma, pain management, metabolic disorders/obesity and spinal disorders among others. Reporting to the head of the Geisinger Health Neurosciences Institute, Neil Martin M.D., and in partnership with the Department’s Vice President, Mark Basinger, the Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health will lead a team of physicians, psychologists, advanced practitioners, nurses, residents, and administrative staff. The Department is comprised of three divisions: Psychiatry (adult and adolescent), Psychology and Addiction Medicine. Director of Addiction Psychiatry

Tufts Medical Center, the principal teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine, and its department of psychiatry are seeking an academic addiction psychiatrist to serve as the Director of Addiction Psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center and to lead the development of an academic and clinical addiction program at Tufts Medical Center working closely with medical, surgical, pediatric, ob-gyn and psychiatric leadership.  Qualified candidates will be eligible for a full-time faculty position at Tufts University School of Medicine at the appropriate academic rank. The Director of this service will interface closely with the Chief of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, the leadership of all clinical services especially in medicine, surgery and the emergency department, training leadership across the medical center, and the Chief Medical Officer.


Tufts Medical Center is a 415-bed academic medical center with a wide variety of tertiary and quaternary programs. Opportunities exist for the qualified candidate to develop a research program in addiction psychiatry.


Candidate Qualifications:


  • M.D. or D.O., BC/BE in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in academic medical center addiction and consultation settings, and those with additional consultation-liaison or research training
  • Possess credentials for a faculty appointment at the minimum rank of Assistant Professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine
  • Medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

The Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Department of Psychiatry is currently recruiting board eligible/certified psychiatrists for inpatient and outpatient positions in both adult and child psychiatry.


We are a growing, vibrant department in a strong academic medical center.  We host specialty clinical and research programs, including research that crosses the translational spectrum.  Our educational programs include adult psychiatry residency, child fellowship, psychology internship, externship and post-doctoral fellows.  We have a strong collaboration with basic and clinical science in other neuroscience disciplines across several Penn State campuses.


With our clinical partner, the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, the Department staffs several outpatient and partial hospital programs for children and adults, 89 inpatient beds, ECT and other neuromodulation services, specialty sleep and eating-disorders programs, and expanding psychiatric consultation and integrated care programs for Hershey Medical Center.


Successful candidates should have strong teaching as well as clinical skills and, optimally, potential for scientific and scholarly achievement. We offer an attractive compensation package commensurate with qualifications.  Tenure-track positions are possible. May be eligible for J-1 Waiver.

Boston Medical Center provides robust, comprehensive outpatient services to meet the complex and interconnected psychiatric, medical and social needs of a diverse urban patient population. The Department of Psychiatry provides clinical evaluation, psychopharmalogical treatment and support to patients with complex mental health issues, through established programs in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison, Psychiatric Emergency Services, Psychiatric Psychology and Addiction Psychiatry. The Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic is a key training site for Psychiatry residents, medical students, nurse practitioners, social workers, Psychology graduate students, and others. 

In close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, social workers and psychologists, the Medical Director provides leadership for the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, which averages more than 40,000 patient visits per year. The Medical Director works effectively with the psychiatry consult service, psychiatric emergency department and community health centers throughout the Boston area to address the many and sensitive needs of the community. The Medical Director plays an important role in advancing integrated behavioral health service models to support Boston Medical Center’s ongoing development of an accountable care organization. 

Candidates should be Board Certified Psychiatrists with experience in community and/or outpatient psychiatry, excellent clinical and clinical-teaching skills, as well as experience in medical administration, quality improvement and associated budgetary issues. This is a high profile, visible position that offers great opportunity for development and career enhancement. There are ample research opportunities in the outpatient setting, backed by Boston University School of Medicine research infrastructure that offers support in organizing and deploying a research project.
