The United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association is proud of its chapters and affiliates in over 30 states. Each chapter promotes and supports the purposes and core values of USPRA. As a USPRA member, you are automatically a member of your state’s chapter (except in New York, Maryland and California).
A chapter provides increased opportunities for member participation within USPRA. Separately or in concert with broader association efforts, each chapter provides members with educational opportunity, advocates in the public policy arena, and promotes the development of leadership within the field of psychiatric rehabilitation.

The US Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association is the nation's largest association dedicated to advancing the practice and principles of psychiatric rehabilitation. Representing more than 1,700 practitioners, USPRA's mission is to advance the availability and practice of psychiatric rehabilitation so that all individuals with a serious mental illness have access to the supports they need to recover. Founded in 1975, USPRA currently has more than 30 chapters within the United States, and members from around the globe. STARTING A CHAPTER IN YOUR STATE
USPRA envisions a world in which individuals with mental illness recover to achieve successful and satisfying lives in the working, learning, and social environments of their choice. To do this, we need the support of each state in the nation. In order to establish guidelines for the practices of psychiatric rehabilitation, our goal is to incorporate the Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) credential in each state. Currently, the certification is recognized in 15 states. Now is your chance to make a difference! If there is not a chapter in your area, information and referral services are also provided through USPRA’s National Office.
