USPRA Congressional Awards

Each year, USPRA hosts its Congressional Awards Reception to honor elected officials who have worked tirelessly on Capitol Hill to ensure mental health remains a priority, receives national attention, and garners necessary legislation.   One Senator and one Representative is selected annually for his or her contribution to the creation of legislation or policy that assists people with psychiatric disabilities regain citizenship, creating greater awareness and understanding and breaking down the stigma so often associated with mental illnesses.
