50B end-point devices, from a simple light sensor to a multiprocessing end unit like a car, will be coming on line in the next several years. Data will flow to and from these endpoints. Data capture, sharing, management, prioritization and security will be crucial. Data centers will need to optimally manage capacity in real-time, while also carefully monitoring such OPEX and CAPEX items as energy and space allocation. New types of data centers may arise, such as micro data centers, which are locally embedded in population centers. Business models for data centers may shift as the differentiating services data centers offer are redefined. Panelists will discuss these issues, taking a look at where data centers stand today and the preparations being made for the very near IoT-rich future.
