Description

Description
This mixed-gender panel will address questions on a broad range of gender bias-related topics. Each panelist will speak briefly on a topic familiar to them, followed by questions from the audience. Example questions could include: If you observe an imbalance in gender (e.g. last year all of your department’s seminar speakers were men) then how can you avoid this in the future? How can you respond to unkind or inaccurate comments about someone’s work or capabilities that seem based on gender norms rather than merit? How do you stay mindful of who’s at the table and who’s missing, and how do you address any discrepancies? Or are you a male ally who would like tips for how to speak up on these kinds of issues?

Anyone who registers in advance of the session can submit questions electronically via the link below to aid the panelists in focusing on topics of greatest interest to the audience members. Additionally, comment/question cards will be available at the beginning of the session for on-site questions. Men are welcome and encouraged to attend!
