Description

With the recent transition to telehealth services for many music therapists, at-home recording has become a much-needed skillset. Learn how to record, edit, mix, add effects, and bounce to mp3 both audio and MIDI tracks using Garageband and ProTools. Gather information about necessary hardware, such as microphones, cables, and MIDI controllers.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will identify at least 2 music therapy interventions that incorporate the process of recording audio and/or MIDI (CBMT Domain III. A. 5. x.)
  2. Participants will identify at least two computer programs that could be used in at-home recording projects. (CBMT Domain V. A. 7)

Schedule:

  • 5 minutes – Welcome
  • 30 minutes - Overview of terms, hardware, and software
  • 60 minutes - Demonstration in GarageBand
  • 25 minutes - break
  • 60 minutes - Demonstration in ProTools
