Description

Expand your skills and your revenue streams!  Take your Drums Alive® Basic Certification to the senior level with Golden Beats!  Explore a seated-to-standing class design which is reimbursable AND un-Beat-able!  Identify 6 levels of physical conditioning which if addressed routinely help minimize the effects of aging and reduce client symptomology. Drums Alive Basic Beats Course is a prerequisite to the Drums Alive Golden Beats Course (scheduled for Sunday, November 18 from 8-5p). For more information see www.drums-alive.com.     

1. Participants will be able to define and identify a minimum of 5 levels of functionality related to fitness conditioning for the older adult population: flexibility, ROM, strength, endurance, balance/ proprioception, coordination, speed and reaction time.
Board Certification Domains: I. B. Assessment: 3. a) - h) and 12.
D. Treatment Planning: 16 
III. B. Evaluation: 1 and 6. IV. Professional Development and Responsibilities A. Professional Development: 3.  B. Professional Responsibilities: 14.

2. Participants will identify and demonstrate the importance of referencing ADL’s when instructing clients to appropriately and safely execute simple to complex movements. Board Certification Domains: II. A. Implementation: 2. d., k., l., r., s., z., ag., al., ay., and bd.
3. Participants will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the Drums Alive® Golden Beats Protocol: Class Formation/Set-Up, Choreography Creation and Development, Class Design, Client Safety and Equipment Maintenance.
Board Certification Domains: I. Referral, Assessment, and Treatment Planning B. Assessment: 8. - 12. D. Treatment Planning: 8., 11., 12., 13. and 15. II. Treatment Implementation and Termination A. Implementation: 5. a)., i) 4., q)., w) B. Safety: 3., 5., and 7.
