Description

Recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certificate for Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

Objectives:

1. Course participants will demonstrate that they can recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. CBMT Domain II.B.1
2. Course participants will demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. CBMT Domain II.B.1. 

Schedule:

  • Lesson 1. Before Giving Care and Checking an Injured or Ill Person 70 minutes
  • Lesson 2. Cardiac Emergencies and Giving CPR 50 minutes
  • Break 10 minutes
  • Lesson 3. Using an AED 28 minutes
  • Lesson 4. Choking 25 minutes
  • Lesson 5. Sudden Illness 52 minutes
  • Break 10 minutes
  • Lesson 6. Injuries 55 minutes
  • Lesson 7. Environmental Emergencies 30 minutes
  • Lesson 8. Conclusion 20 minutes
  • Evaluation 10 minutes
