American Music Therapy Association

This 26-hour intensive, online class + experiential workshop prepares music therapists to provide Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth Services in hospital, birthing center, and home-birthing settings.  An in-depth study of music for labor and birth, and well as positions, relaxation techniques, and other comfort measures paired with music are presented. Video-recorded role-plays of birthing scenarios, assessment techniques, video examples of women experiencing Sound Birthing MusicTM births, and group discussions are essential components of this experiential training.  Music Therapists will learn about the Sound Birthing MusicTM MTACB Labor Support Model of Care, receive guidelines for creating Sound Birthing MusicTM playlists for birth, and learn ways to use live music in labor and birthing. Tips and tools for building a client base and a business in this specialty area are also provided.
