Description

We all know that heartbeat recordings are an incredible legacy project, but how do we ensure both our recordings and our application of the intervention are high quality? Learn not only tips and tricks for recording and editing heartbeats, but how to implement the intervention in a way that is meaningful and part of the therapeutic process, not just a product to present near end of life.

Learning Objectives:

  1. CBMT Domain III.a.2.o - Participants will be able to accurately identify when a heartbeat recording is or is not an appropriate therapeutic intervention in at least 3 case studies.
  2. CBMT Domain V.a.4 - Participants will be able to identify at least 2 ways to work with colleagues to improve the heartbeat recording intervention for the patient and family.


Schedule:

  • 10 minutes - Welcome and introduction
  • 40 minutes - How to record a heartbeat
  • 10 minutes - Break
  • 50 minutes - Editing heartbeat recordings
  • 10 minutes - Break
  • 20 minutes - Case studies
  • 30 minutes - Wrap up discussion including ethical and cultural considerations, how to talk about heartbeats to your colleagues, and tips for starting a heartbeat recording program
