C. Creating, Composing, and Conducting Sustaining Rhythms of Pediatric Palliative Care
(Event: 2019 AMTA Conference - Innovate! Integrate! Motivate!)

Nov 20, 2019 12:30 pm - Nov 21, 2019 12:00 pm
Session Type: Additional Course
Track: .

At its best, pediatric palliative care providers and families “sing” together. It may not always be in unison; verses may vary, improvisations happen that require dexterity by all, and players may come and go. But when done well, music of caring can be heard, sustained, and applauded.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to clearly discuss ways music as metaphor can inform the perspectives and practices of pediatric palliative care. (Treatment Planning)
  • Participants will be able to name 3-4 implications from the symposium for their work in pediatric settings. (Implementation)
  • Participants will be able to describe specific uses of the sessions on improvisation and endings for the work of music therapy. (Professional Responsibility)
