Description Participants will be introduced to the latest neuroscientific findings about brain structure, function, neuroplasticity, and related behavioral changes within the autism spectrum. Musical examples with participation will be used to demonstrate therapeutic procedures designed to elicit predetermined behavior in clients with autism. Participants will be instructed to prepare a treatment description of at least one client whose diagnosis is indicative of autism spectrum disorders. These descriptions will be used to help each music therapist learn to redesign treatment plans or descriptions of client progress by modifying language and terminology to reflect brain functioning as affected by evidence based musical interventions.
