American Music Therapy Association

Join us for the 2nd Annual AMTA Leadership Academy and get ready to take your leadership to the next level! No matter what your current role is in your workplace, your state, your region or national AMTA, there is a place for you, your perspective and your energy! Challenge yourself to further develop your leadership skills and capacity, and build your network with music therapists around the county!  This year's Leadership Academy can be taken as your first Leadership Academy experience or as a follow up on last year. Everyone is welcome!

Objectives:

• 1. Forge a path for leadership in the future, assessing their own areas for professional growth and setting goals. IV. A.1., IV.A.5., IV. A.7. 
• 2. Enhance their professional development and responsibilities and gain new strategies or insights in one or more aspects of leadership in nonprofits, healthcare, businesses, and/or academia. IV. A.1., !V. A.4., IV.A.5., IV. A.7., IV.B. 5., IV. B. 6., IV.B.7., IV.B.8., IV.B.9., IV.B.11., IV.B.16., IV.B.18., IV.B.20. 
• 3. Learn one or more models for building collaborative relationships. IV. A.4., IV.B.6. 

​Schedule:

The course consists of 4 segments.  There will be an introductory and closing session for all participants.  The second, and third segments are sessions based on tracks as follows: professional leadership, healthcare, business, and research.


The AMTA Academy experience will allow professionals at ALL levels to:

• Discover their unique niche as a leader.
• Explore leadership approaches, stages, and styles.
• Enhance their professional development and responsibilities.
• Forge a path for leadership in the future.
• Learn from leaders within our field in areas of nonprofits, healthcare, business and academia.

We will utilize the CMTE Course Evaluation Form.  In addition, presenters will provide numerous self-assessment documents, worksheets, etc. for participants to complete throughout the various segments.
