Utz Baldwin

CEO of the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association CEDIA), past president of CEDIA’s Board of Directors, and previous founder and president of AD Systems in Houston, TX. His career spans 19 years in the consumer electronics industry, with the majority of time spent in the custom installation field. In 1984, he began in the retail sector, working for the Federated Group in Los Angeles. Utz later migrated to high-end audio/ video sales and installation at Jonas Miller Sound in Santa Monica. After managing the custom installation division for several years, Utz founded Acoustic Design Inc. He has presented to audiences such as NAHB, ASID, AIBD, EHX, CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Forum and CEDIA EXPO. Utz has also served as CEDIA Management Conference Chair.


Peter Cook

President and owner of Automation Design + Entertainment, Inc. of Portage, Michigan. He is a CEDIA Certified Electronic System Designer as well as a CEDIA Level One Installer and THX certified home theater designer. He has over eighteen years experience in the sales, design, installation, project management, and ownership of a custom electronics design and installation business located in southwest Michigan. He has designed, installed, and serviced residential electronic systems in mid to high end custom homes for close to two decades. He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and practical expertise to the architectural and interior design community. Peter and his projects have been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers and trade journals including Electronic House, Residential Systems, Robb Report Home, Entertainment Magazine, Home Systems Installer, Wall Street Journal and New York Times to name a few.


David DiSpirito

Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD) and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). His background and experience have given him a solid grounding in building science, passive and active solar applications and even submarine design, as well as residential design. He came to his specialty of accessibility, as many do, through personal experience with disability in his family. David says he finds it especially satisfying to work with servicemen and woman returned from deployment. David lives in White Marsh, Virginia.


Angela Mulder

Sales and Marketing Coordinator for Visbeen Associates, as well as Executive Assistant to the President. In addition to handling sales and marketing, Angela manages scheduling, client relations, and design competition entries. Her degree in communications, organizational skills and energetic personality are vital to the firm. Angela's home is in Grand Rapids.


Peter Schipp

President and Founder of Architectural Electronics, an award winning electronic systems contractor located in the Orlando area. Peter has been in the electronic systems contracting industry for over 12 years and holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. Peter is a current member of CEDIA’s Board of Directors, the Co-Chair of CEDIA’s Management Conference the past Chair of the CEDIA Electronic Systems Business Content Action Team. Peter is also a Registered Outreach Instructor and is a CEDIA Certified Designer, as well as Advanced EST and Installer Level I certified.


Dominick Tringali

Principal of Dominick Tringali Architects in Bloomfield Hills, MI (near Lansing), has twenty-four years experience in the residential design industry.He studied architecture in Florence, Italy, where he developed a deep understanding of and appreciation for classical design principles. Dominick feels that architecture should feel both old and new, with timeless qualities that he calls the "essence of design". He is an advocate of New Urbanism and environmental responsibility. He feels that his designs should create healthy, beautiful, and energy efficient living spaces for his clients. Dominick has won numerous awards for his work, including Best in American Living Awards - 2007 and Builders Choice Awards - 2006. He belongs to several industry associations, including the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classic America and EEBA (Energy and Environmental Building Association), serves on the board of his local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, and is a sought-after speaker.


Len Van Staalduinen

Department Chair of the Architectural Technology program at Pitt Community College and owner of custom residential design firm, Design Plus. Len has an AAS in Architectural Technology from Pitt Community College and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from North Carolina State University. Len's focus is on creating custom residential designs based on traditional design concepts. His designs incorporate energy and resource efficient features into structures that meet the needs of clients' individual lifestyles. Len lives in Greenville, NC.


Wayne Visbeen

Principal of Visbeen Associates Inc, Architects, attributes his passion for design to a childhood spent on construction sites. Wayne received his graduate degree from Lawrence Technological University in 1986. Since starting his own firm in the early 1990's, he has independently designed commercial and residential projects all over the world, and garnered many awards. His natural abilities to understand space and structure allow him to fit plans together inside and out, and his “live design” approach enables Wayne to travel, work and draw anywhere. Wayne's home is in Grand Rapids.
