Anne Marie Kuchera, MS, MA, RD, LPC
Anne Marie’s career has focused on the use of evidence-based methods to understand and elicit change in individuals, families, communities, and organizational systems for the promotion of physical, mental, emotional and social health and wellbeing.
She currently serves as Director of Community Health for UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where her responsibilities include identifying health needs of the community and integrating services between community-based and hospital systems that address these needs, with particular attention to the social, behavioral, and environmental factors that influence health – factors such as access to care, preventive health, food and nutrition, family supports, and active living. Her background with the hospital also includes working children and adolescents, and their families, who experienced significant weight challenges, and training and education for medical professionals. She previously served as the Program Development and Clinical Training Director on a Department of Defense-funded grant to expand pediatric obesity treatment services into primary care. She serves on the advisory board for the American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatric Obesity Prevention and Treatment Collaborative and the Pittsburgh Food Policy Council steering committee.
Both a licensed counselor and a licensed nutritionist/dietitian, Anne Marie is an adjunct professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to teaching, she consults with organizations and agencies on the integration of motivational interviewing into services and interventions and is member of the International Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.
Rachana Shah, MD, Assistant Professor Of Pediatrics At The Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia
Dr. Shah is a pediatric endocrinologist and the medical director of the multidisciplinary Adolescent PCOS Clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She also provides care for obese children and teens at the CHOP Healthy Weight Clinic. She runs an active clinical and laboratory research program focused on obesity and PCOS.
Dr. Shah received her medical degree and completed Internal Medicine and Pediatrics training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She then completed a Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
