Hurricanes/Tropical Storms Procedures for SEFLIN Events

If a Hurricane or Tropical Storm is imminent for the SEFLIN region (Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, or Martin counties), SEFLIN reserves the right to cancel a class, event, meeting or Webinar. In the event of cancellation, SEFLIN will notify registrants and presenters by phone, email, Web page announcement, or other means. The SEFLIN office, located on the campus of the Florida Atlantic University campus in Boca Raton, will close when the FAU-Boca Raton campus is closed. SEFLIN’s weather related event cancellation procedures will be:
 

During a Hurricane or Tropical Storm WATCH issued by the National Weather Service and affecting the SEFLIN region:

• SEFLIN classes, events, meetings, and webinars will be held as scheduled

During a Hurricane or Tropical Storm WARNING issued by the National Weather Service and affecting the SEFLIN region:

• SEFLIN face-to-face and live online classes, events, and meetings will be canceled

After a hurricane or tropical storm has closed the SEFLIN office and SEFLIN member libraries:

• SEFLIN will announce the resumption of scheduled classes, events, meetings, and webinars via email, this web site, and social media
