Amy Shaffner is responsible for providing government guidance, support and oversight to acute care facilities at Optum360. She ensures key stakeholders have the tools, knowledge and processes to effectively manage the government audit responses and minimize the fiscal impact to health systems. Amy counsels and educates appeal nurse writers and other staff in a variety of subjects relating to the denial process and appeals as well as performing QM audits and promoting standardization of the audit process. Amy is a graduate of the University of Mary (Bismarck, ND) where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has 30 years of nursing experience including acute care, home health/hospice, case management, utilization review, and denials management.
