Webinar on Demand: Medicare Provider Audits and Probes: Purpose, Action & Response

CHIA Product Code: WEB146
Webinar Date: August 02, 2018

Program Description
It can seem that HIM and Medical Office professionals are swimming in a "provider audit alphabet soup" with terms like ADR, CBR, TPE, CERT, and SMRC floating around. This session will define acronyms associated with audits, investigations, findings and fraud referrals. We will also explore how the referrals can escalate an audit to a Zone Program Integrity Contractor (ZPIC)/Unified Program Integrity Contractor (UPIC) level.

The presenter will review

  • Different ways audit findings and referrals are escalated
  • Probes, audits and letters
  • Complaints or referrals that come from multiple sources
  • Required responses, as well as the possible consequences

Who Should Attend
Billing, Coding, Revenue Cycle Professionals and Office Managers involved with the billing of services rendered by a physician or other qualified health care professional in any setting.
