The International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) is pleased to offer the IMLA Charles W. Thompson, Jr. Local Government Law Scholarships (IMLA Scholarships). Since 1935, IMLA has been singularly devoted to promoting excellence in the practice of local government law, through publications, conferences, online resources, amicus support and an active community of local government lawyer members exchanging best practices.
Named in honor of Charles Thompson, local government law lecturer, county attorney, and long-time Executive Director of IMLA, the IMLA Scholarships represent an extension of IMLA’s activities, by encouraging law students to pursue the study of local government law and expand the ranks of those interested in service to their communities as local government lawyers.
