Aggression and sexual offenses exhibited by persons with mental retardation are two of the most difficult disorders to treat. The Social Sexual Program is based upon Growth's (1983) premise that group is the primary treatment of choice for the sex offender who is isolated from his peers and whose major problem behaviors are in the area of interpersonal relationships. The Social Sexual Group Treatment Program currently being utilized in both institutional settings and community outpatient centers will be presented as a modality for treating aggressive behaviors and sexual disorders.
