Dr. Cheryl Meola is a licensed professional counselor, national certified counselor and PATH Intl. Certified Registered Instructor. Her doctoral research focused on developing equine-assisted learning workshops for master's counseling programs to enhance counseling skills development.
Dr. Meola's presentation was designed specifically to develop the awareness, knowledge and skills in incorporating equine-assisted learning activities into self-care for helping professionals. This includes therapists, teachers, nurses or anyone who is at risk of burnout from caring for others. This webinar recording is a combination of presentation of ideas used in creating wellness workshops for professionals, supervision interventions and other community-based outreach programing as well as a discussion-based question and answer. Legal, ethical and marketing aspects of running these wellness-based programs with professionals was also covered as well as specific interventions utilized with different populations.
Upon conclusion of the seminar, participants will:
- Increase their knowledge and ability to effectively implement these programs into their centers or practices.
- Differentiate specific interventions useful with helping professional workshops.
- Identify some of the benefits of wellness workshops and prevention of burnout.
- Identify some marketing strategies/suggestions for beginning wellness programing in a center or practice.
