Cheri and Beth are the authors of, Empowered Connections: Creating Collaborations in the EAAT Field, an article in the Summer 2018 issue of PATH Intl. Strides.
When agencies, programs and people collaborate, opportunities for growth and more effective management of resources emerges. Collaborations create unique partnerships for PATH Intl. Member Centers to share how equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) can impact participants from nearly every organization. This promotes the EAAT field as it positively impacts local communities.
Successful collaborations open the doors to new opportunities by expanding each organization's influence. This outreach increases community awareness of the partnering organizations, eliminates redundancy in services and increases exposure and creditability of PATH Intl. programs. This synergy creates even greater teamwork between organizations, and participants and their families often feel truly cared for and valued when organizations partner to serve their needs. In addition, funders are very interested in supporting shared programing in which two respected groups work together for the greater good.
