CS + STEAM in Library
MakerFest
09/30/2020
The Miami-Dade Public Library System will present about how it is integrating computer science and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics (STEAM) inside our YOUmake Miami makerspaces and on our library Technobus. Attendees will be able to learn about various types of technology that is being presented in our Miami-Dade libraries, which support digital learning, development of computer programming skills, upcycled art, music recording, and photography. Participants will also find out about some of the cool workshops the library presents to enhance CS & STEAM learning: including Tynker coding hackathons, Tinkercad 3D modeling, cool Augmented Reality apps, 3D printing, gaming and spatial computing using Magic Leap mixed reality devices. Attendees will take away activities and ideas, many of which can be replicated at their home libraries.
