In 1970, a 2-lane, 10-mile-long section of I-75 near Macon was built with a 7-to-8-inch thick CRCP overlay on an existing, but deteriorated, pavement. In 2003, the Georgia Department of Transportation replaced the truck lane with new 8-inch-thick CRCP, while the passing lane was being rehabilitated.
