CRCP was first constructed in the U.S. in Illinois in 1947. Based on the excellent performance of this project, the Illinois DOT began constructing CRCP extensively on its interstates and other heavily traveled highways. This report provides an overview of IDOT's CRCP design and traffic loadings, and discusses factors related to the performance of CRCP in the state.
