This CD contains the proceedings of the 2009 International Conference on Wood Adhesives that took place on September 28-30 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, USA. The past several years have been challenging for adhesive producers and users given the reduced demand for wood products, new standards for lowering the formaldehyde emissions from wood products, and the desire to meet green building standards. The 2009 International Conference on Wood Adhesives provided an excellent opportunity for scientists from all over the world to discuss the latest technology in the field of wood adhesion. The global nature was clear by having presenters (formal papers and posters) from 22 countries and 206 attendees from 27 countries. After the United States, Canada and Switzerland supplied the most speakers and presenters. In addition to North America, Europe, Asia, and South America were well represented. Environmental aspects were an important part of the conference. Scientists from companies talked about their technologies for meeting the new California formaldehyde emission standards, as well as the low emission levels for Europe and Japan.
