Supervising the Music Therapy Intern E-course, a self-study e-course will review National Roster Internship Guidelines for persons interested in becoming a National Roster Internship Site as well as use guidelines for supervising music therapy interns. Guidelines will be used to remind participants of specific AMTA requirements related to interns and themselves. Several topics will be explored during this course, including ethical dilemmas, cultural considerations during an internship, establishing and maintaining a beneficial relationship with interns, leadership skills, and stages of internship. Information will be shared through lecture, activities, and discussions. Participants are encouraged to explore their own unique situations and needs.  The AMTA Professional Competencies will be used throughout the course to remind participants of their role in internship training. This course meets the required training for internship directors and supervisors for both National Roster and University Affiliated internship programs. Publish date: February, 2021

  • Objective #3 Participants will be able to Identify 3 possible ethical Dilemmas related to supervising an intern. V Professional Development and responsibilities B. 2. Conduct oneself in an authentic, ethical, accountable, and culturally sensitive manner that respects privacy, dignity, and human rights in all settings including social media, marketing, and advertising. Once you purchase this item, you must download the e-course workbook with instructions and links for listening to or watching the course. Go to the AMTA website and log in on the left side using the QuickLink, “My Account>Login.”  After logging into your AMTA online account with your primary email and password, go to the top tab “My Transactions,” and the “My Downloadable Products” link, then click on the item to open it. Save to your local computer.  This purchase will remain available in your account for one year from the purchase date.

Note: The cost of each e-course purchase entitles one individual to participate in and complete the e-course for CMTE credit. If a course is being purchased for multiple individuals, it must be purchased separately for each participant. Please email the national office if you are purchasing a course for someone other than yourself so credit can be applied to that person's record.
