The purpose of this AMTA E-course, Medical Music Therapy: Building a Program, is to provide an overview of the steps involved in proposing, building, and eventually expanding a medical music therapy program. E-course participants will learn how to propose a program and review important points to consider during the process, including (a) supportive data, (b) tips for developing a strategic plan, (c) key points for administrators and decision-makers, (d) elements of an effective proposal, (e) persuasive advocacy and education strategies, and (f) detailed considerations for setting up, evaluating, and expanding the music therapy program. Information presented in this AMTA E-course in conjunction with the research literature and available resources provides a solid platform necessary to develop or expand a music therapy program in a medical setting. Downloading the Workbook:
Once you have purchased this item after logging into your AMTA online account, you will need to download the e-course workbook. Go My Account>My Transactions>My Downloadable Products and click on the item to open it. Then save the workbook (a .pdf file) to your local computer. (Note: If you have trouble with the download in your particular browser, please try a different browser if you are able. Or, you may email the AMTA office and we will be happy to email the workbook to you.) The workbook will provide all instructions for taking the course and include the link to the audio files. You will be able to re-download the workbook in your online account for a period of 12 months after the purchase date. To obtain CMTE credits after taking the course, follow instructions given in the downloadable workbook.
