The Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) has created education and a curriculum for a low cost four-week obesity medicine “supplemental education” that can be completed remotely/online. This curriculum and education is being offered to any resident currently enrolled in an institution’s health profession program. This online education includes a total of 31 hours of obesity-focused education.
The obesity medicine online education will provide residents with the opportunity to build an understanding of the unique conditions surrounding the care of the patient with obesity. Residents will develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to assess patients with obesity and develop treatment recommendations utilizing self-directed, online educational programming and dedicated reading assignments. Residents will develop the foundational tools necessary to address problem solving, patient assessment, and the coordination of health care for the individual with obesity.
This purchase also includes free access to the 2020 Obesity Algorithm e-book and one-year Clinician in training membership in the Obesity Medicine Association for all enrolled residents.
