Webinar on Demand: When to Query and When NOT!

CHIA Product Code: WEB229
Webinar Date: December 07, 2021

Program Description
All across HIM and CDI the topic of when to query the provider is identified as a challenging topic. Knowing when and when not to query for documentation clarification is a vital part of the day to day work of the Coding and CDI Professional. But there are also compliance risks with querying, thus it's extremely important to know and understand these risks and vulnerabilities. Queries should be included in reviews and audits to ensure compliance is being met, both from the HIM Coding and CDI perspectives. Looking for query solutions and answers can help to identify the root causes for non-answered and non-compliant queries. Now is the time, to learn more about when and when NOT to query!

During this 90 minute educational program information will be provided and case scenario's will be shared that capture when and when not to query. In addition, several documentation gaps and key steps to improvement in order to obtain success will be provided. Both inpatient and outpatient querying can have many benefits to any practice, facility or organization. Clinical documentation is foundational compliant, accurate clinical coding, both ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT. When to query and when not can aide in improvements and decrease risk.

  • Learn more about types of querying;
  • Review clinical indicator and rationale for clinical validation;
  • Enhance knowledge and understanding of the query process and compliant querying;
  • Improve skills with case scenario review and discussion;
  • Understand key strategies for improving your query process and compliance.
