This presentation delivers a review of mobile health applications’ referenced in the new privacy and security rules, guidance and regulatory changes. Presenters will highlight required patient education regarding mobile health apps that must be provided according to the new rules included in the Century Cures Act. Mobile health apps are referred to by different names, for example, Digital Health Apps, Personal Health Records (PHR) and Third-party Apps among others. These computer applications will be addressed regardless of the platform. Patient education is a fluid topic where best practices are still under development.
