Session Description: Levels of Service (LOS) Standards come in many shapes and sizes.  This session explores them as a performance standard and specifically covers types of LOS for facilities, programming, and maintenance activities.

Learning Objectives
Participants Will:

  • Recognize the different types of LOS standards and measurements. 
  • Understand how to develop standards specific to your agency. 
  • Identify and understand the importance of LOS measurements to help establish facility and service priorities.

Rick Durr

Rick Durr currently serves as Division Manager of the Seminole County Greenways and Natural Lands Division. Rick has a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida, and is formally trained in project management with over 25 years experience in project planning, design, management, policy implementation, and contract management and implementation. He has also spent time serving on a Youth Sports non-profit Board of Directors as a league organizer, treasurer, coach and parent. Rick has been professionally licensed with the State of Florida as a Landscape Architect since 1996, as a Certified Planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners since 2001, and a Certified Park and Recreation Professional since 2016. Prior to his work at Seminole County, Rick spent 18 years in private practice with a focus on parks, public spaces and greenways planning, design, and construction.
