We will discuss the importance of personal physical security for employees. We will be discussing Security Interfaces as well as other “hot” security topics such as active shooter, clandestine drug labs, chemical suicide, texting while driving, and other topics we feel are vital for our employees on the job.
Jeff Haag has a background in education and safety that spans more than 20 years. A former school teacher and administrator, Jeff has developed many programs aimed to protect students, teachers, and the public. Jeff currently is the Project and Training Coordinator as well as a Certified Playground Safety Inspector for the City of Lakeland Parks and Recreation. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Florida Southern College and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Jeff handles all of the safety and orientation training for the department. Teaching and helping others has always been a passion of his. One of his favorite saying is, the word panic equals unprepared.
Alan Lee’s career with the City of Lakeland began in 1997, during this time frame he has learned multiple facilities trades including his current responsibilities, Security and Life Safety where he oversees 6 (six) internal employees and over 50 (fifty) plus contract employees. Some of Alan’s biggest accomplishments has been the integration of two of the most common used security systems (camera and card access) onto one software platform as well as assisting in the city wide safety and security training and safety fair. Alan hold several facilities professional certificates including CPO (Certified Protection Officer) and is currently studying for the ASIS PSP certificates and the NFPA Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance Water Based Fire Protection Systems. Alan strongly believes that the success of any profession is surrounding yourself with great internal and external resources. In some of Alan’s spare time he spends it coaching soccer both at the club and high school levels.
