Staff from Community Residences, Inc. will describe a comprehensive program that is a joint public/private effort to serve dually diagnosed children in the community. Community Residences, Inc. is a private, nonprofit agency that serves developmentally disabled children and adults. A program was developed to serve children in the community through group homes, foster homes and clinical services. As part of the presentation, descriptions will be provided as to the kinds of clinical services as well as support services available provided for children in the community. In addition, the kind of clinical services and issues related to the special needs of the children from a psychotherapeutic perspective including issues related to both individual and family therapy will be described.
